Technical description The upper and lower (visible) drive units each handle bass and midrange and these are isobarically loaded by similar drive units located inside the cabinet. The main tweeter is in the centre, making up a classic D'Appolito array. Its output is augmented by the two upward-firing EMIT super-tweeters atop the enclosure. As with the ULTIMATUM MF9, the driver-mounting baffles (front & top) are decoupled from the main structure via a polyethylene membrane. The total baffle is a 45mm thick 'sandwich' of Birch Plywood, Polyethylene and MDF. This provides a rigid non-resonant platform, which is ideal for optimal performance of the drive units. The crossover is a minimalist 3 element type (plus damping & attenuating resistors) employing precisely toleranced, low loss air-cored inductors and Neat's newly-developed polypropylene film & foil capacitors. The speaker exploits predominantly first-order crossover slopes and mechanical roll-offs for a natural, uninhibited performance. Specifications Plinth footprint: 35x51cm (wd). Enclosure type: Vertical in-line D'Appolito array, incorporating iso-baric reflex-tuned bass loading, plus upward firing super-tweeters. Sensitivity: 89db/1 watt. Recommended amplifier power: 25 - 300watts. Impedance: 8 ohms average. Minimum 6 ohms. Weight: 50kg each. Finishes
Neat Ultimatum premium (high gloss) finishes.
