The ELITE SE is an upgraded version of the classic ELITE model, introduced in 1999. The SE employs the same bass/midrange drive unit as those now used in the luxury ULTIMATUM models. It also retains the Area-drive planar tweeter which is well known for its superb pure and open treble quality.

Technical description
The SE builds upon the considerable strengths of the original model, delivering even greater access to the music.

The extensively-braced enclosure is built from 15mm MDF. This is reflex loaded with a dual-port ‘staggered’ tuning. This system employs one port at the rear and another on the bottom panel, firing downward. The enclosure is raised upon 20mm spacers above a solid-slate plinth and 6mm spikes are supplied for optimum floor-coupling.

The internal crossover network uses highest quality close-tolerance components. All connections are soldered. Bi-wire connectors are provided and further performance gains can be made with ‘bi-amplified’ operation. The ELITE can be used close to walls or in free space, depending on the listening room’s characteristics.
